Nothing an inspector taps is smaller than 64 pixels, and the photo button is bigger than that. The interface is near-black with a safety-vest accent because that is the most legible combination on a phone at noon in July.

The screen is kept awake while you are live, so the phone does not sleep halfway up a valley. And a red bar sits across the top the entire time you are recording, for the same reason a broadcast camera has a tally lamp: you should never have to wonder whether you are hot.

Does the homeowner need to download an app?

No. They tap the link in your text and the video is already playing. There is no app, no account, and no sign-up form. The page is a plain web page that works in whatever browser their phone already has.

Will the homeowner be asked for camera or microphone permission?

No, and this is enforced rather than promised. Viewer access tokens are issued with publishing disabled, so the browser has no reason to ask. There is nothing for the homeowner to grant and nothing for them to accidentally decline.

How far behind is the video?

Under a second in normal conditions. That is the entire point — it is what lets a homeowner say "what is that dark patch?" while the inspector is still standing on that section. Conventional streaming runs ten to thirty seconds behind, which turns a conversation into two monologues.

What happens on bad cell signal?

The stream sends several quality layers at once, so a weak connection drops to a lower one instead of freezing. Both the inspector and the homeowner see a plain warning when the connection degrades, rather than staring at a stalled image and wondering.

Where do the recordings go?

Every inspection records automatically to private cloud storage owned by your company. Recordings are not public. They are served through short-lived signed links, so a URL that leaks is useless within the hour.

How long does the homeowner’s link stay alive?

Twelve hours by default, and it dies immediately when the inspector ends the inspection. A link that outlives the job is a link that can be forwarded to people who were never meant to have it.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, on both sides. One honest limitation: if the inspector switches apps or takes a phone call mid-inspection, iOS suspends the broadcast. That is a browser restriction rather than something we can code around. The homeowner side is unaffected.

Can the homeowner see who else is watching?

No. The homeowner sees the roof and hears the inspector. Viewer counts, connection quality and the photo tally are shown to the inspector only.
